The University of Bayreuth (Universität Bayreuth) is a public research university in Bayreuth, Bavaria. It was established in 1975 (founded as an institution in 1972) and is known as a campus university with an interdisciplinary approach, bringing different disciplines together through shared research themes. It offers a broad range of bachelor’s and master’s programmes across sciences, engineering, humanities, social sciences, and law, as well as teacher education. The university also operates a second site in Kulmbach focused on life sciences and food and health topics.
