Saar College of Fine Arts (Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar, HBKsaar) is a public art university in Saarbrücken and the only dedicated art university in Saarland. Founded in 1989, it offers practice-based study in fields such as fine arts, communication design, product design, media art and design, and art education. Teaching is organised around studio and project work, supported by theory and critical studies, and students can progress from bachelor’s degrees to master’s programmes, as well as specialised master’s options.
