["The binational programme trains teachers for secondary schools in France and Germany. The students start their studies with year one in either Freiburg or Mulhouse (usually in their home country), before the second and the third years of the Bachelor's programme are spent in binational cohorts (first in Freiburg, then in Mulhouse). An orientation week before the second year prepares the students for this binational, bicultural and also bilingual study and teaching experience (during this week, they get an introduction to intercultural communication as well as to German-French history and current relations, for example). The fields of study usually include two majors (German and French), educational sciences, and school practice.Special emphasis lies on several periods of practical training in both countries, which familiarises the students with the different educational systems. An intercultural dimension is at the heart of the programme. French- and German-speaking students complete their studies side by side and are able to assist each other as they work in tandems.A binational Master's programme in teacher education is organised by PH Freiburg, U Strasbourg and the "Seminar für Ausbildung und Fortbildung der Lehrkräfte Freiburg" (WHRS)."]
