About this course

["Civil engineers have visions of achieving sustainable infrastructure in a cost-effective, environmentally and socially responsible manner. They should also live up to their professional title of "civil engineering". This means taking responsibility for civil society by solving complex issues with sustainable methods – building, repairing or rehabilitating, e.g. tunnels, roads, bridges and much more. Why sustainable methods? Because the building sector contributes enormously to CO2 emissions – rethinking it is therefore a necessity. With sustainable and alternative building materials, effective resource management, energy-efficient building design, digital methods and new structural methods, there is enormous potential to reduce our ecological footprint.Civil engineers are those who have mastered the mathematical, scientific and computational tools to solve problems associated with the development and maintenance of a civil society. Are you interested? If so, the Sustainable Civil Engineering programme at the THI in Neuburg an der Donau might just be the right education for your future purpose. With your inquisitiveness and our expertise, we can develop new things and influence climate change. Take your chance!"]
